UK: Claimant Count Change drops 4K in September (Barcelona) - The number of unemployment people in the UK fell by 4K in September, following a 15K drop registered in August, National Statistics reported on Wednesday. Analysts expected the indicator to remain unchanged. The Claimant Count Rate stayed at 4.8%, in line with forecasts.

The ILO Unemployment Rate decreased to 7.9% in August from 8.1% in July, against market consensus of remaining unchanged. Average Earnings excluding Bonus rose 2% in the three months to August, following a 1.9% reading in the three months to July, as expected. Average Earnings including Bonus increased 1.7%, in comparison with 1.5% growth, almost in line with projections of a 1.6% rise.
