US INDEX, EUR/USD Flows - USD up on Fed Discount Rate hike rumours + Greece concern (PYWC2001)

Rumours of Fed Discount Rate hikes making the rounds yesterday, from current 0.75%, last hiked, by surprise, on Feb 18 2010, even as Former Fed Chair Alan Greenspan defends his low rate policy - more next. EUR/USD at 1.3611-12, having hit lows of 1.3586, down from Asia highs of 1.3739 yesterday, weighed by renewed concerns over Greece - even as Germany is now open to IMF option - and also n the rumours of Fed Discount Rate hike. EUR/USD offers at 1.3640-50 for now, talks of options barriers again at 1.3550/ 1.3500, interest to sell on rallies for 1.3500 handle and then the 10-month lows of 1.3433 again. USD INDEX at 80.278, with support now at 80.000, eye 81.000 handle again, and up from the 6-week lows of 79.507 seen. USD remains bid. WL
