The Euro trades without significant changes vs. U.S. dollar as investors remain their focus on the European and UK central banks interest rate decisions on Thursday and for Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's clues for further central bank monetary policy that now expected to cut at least 0.25% in January in order to obtain credit crunch. Yesterday`s real estate data from U.S. showed decrease in pending home sales to -2.6% much lower than the analyst forecast that is leaving the negative sentiment on the dollar globally. At 07:20 GMT, the dollar was trading at 1.4725 vs. euro.

Dollar straightened against the Japanese currency on hopes BOJ will continue his conservative monetary policy to keep rate steady in order to boost economy growth in the country that after Japanese government last month cut its growth forecast for this year to 2% from 2.1%. The Asian Development Bank outlook the Japanese economy will expand lower at 1.7% this year from an estimated 1.9 percent gain in 2007.

Last month the BOJ kept its rate unchanged at 0.5%, the lowest among developed countries. Lower rates encourage investors such as carry traders to borrow from Japan and invest the proceeds in higher-yielding currencies elsewhere, weakening the yen. At 07:20 GMT, the dollar was trading at 109.60 vs. yen.

The sterling continues to be very volatile against the majors. The Bank of England is under pressure to cut rates again after UK retailers reported their worst Christmas trading period since 2004. Last month the UK central bank cut rates for the first time in more than two years by 0.25% to 5.5%. At 07:20 GMT, the sterling was trading at 1.9700 vs. dollar.
