The US dollar gained vs the majors on strong economic data and a remark by Goldman Sachs that the dollar fall is ending. Strong US exports help the world biggest economy to grow at a 4.9% paste at the third quarter of 07. The leading indexes on Wall Street finish higher as a Fed rate cut in December is expect. Ben Bernanke the Fed governor cemented expectations for more interest rate cuts that are expect to revive the economy. Reports that the U.S. government and financial institutions are discussing a plan to renegotiate adjustable rate mortgages also boosted the dollar as they suggested that moves are afoot to clean up the sub prime mortgage mess that has rocked global financial markets. The dollar strengthened vs. the yen as carry traders felt confidence to retake risky position selling the Japanese currency .

The dollar traded around the levels of 1.4735 against the Euro , 110.45 vs the yen and 2.0605 against the sterling at 07:00 (GMT).

"The growth outlook for the U.S. has somewhat overshadowed some of the negative factors weighing on the dollar. Traders are beginning to look at looming Fed rate cuts as a mechanism of keeping the U.S. economy out of recession. All of this is taking place within the broader backdrop of the need for a little bit of a bounce for the dollar. It's a temporary phenomenon; I don't think lower interest rates by any means are going to continue to fuel a dollar rally." Said Omer Esiner, forex analyst at Ruesch International in Washington.
