Hello all,
We have a buy ZLC on the USD/CAD 4 hour time frame.

Regarding the FIFO ruling and it's application by various brokers:
1. There is no consensus on the rule and how it is going to be applied. Some brokers are stating that MT4 will not be used (until MT5 is released) b/c it won't be compliant, and others are saying that they have it compliant so don't worry.
2. There is no consensus on whether it is just meant for hedges or for all positions (such as would be used in a grid strategy). Some brokers say it is for all and others just for hedges.

All eyes on the USD/CAD H4 as it is either going to fall back into a Drop In or cross the zero line to the upside for a ZLC.
[14:00:35]
giovi: what we do with H4 USD/CAD ?
[14:01:28]
jordan: right now we have sell Drop In criteria. we are also very close to a buy ZLC but price is now dropping
[14:01:45]
giovi: ok thanks
[14:01:50]
jordan: looks like 16:00 GMT will be the point we enter a short Drop In or if not looks like 20:00 GMT could be the buy ZLC

Hello all,
Last week was a trying week with the market stuck in a tight range. This is to be expected after the markets have been over extended overbought/sold towards the trend for the last few weeks and trending for the last couple of months. Very pleased with setting the trades to break even at 1/2 protecting the account balance in these range bound markets.
Happy to end the week being what it was with an ever so slight gain of 0.18% on the Conquer H4 and for AUD/JPY and AUD/USD taking profit on Friday.
Greg completed the spreadsheet for the Conquer which you can download from the right under Spreadsheets. Check it out, it can be really useful for those not using Oanda as their broker. Good stuff.

Hello all,
All of the Drop In trades yesterday on the 4 hour (EUR/USD, EUR/JPY, USD/CAD, USD/CHF, GBP/JPY & AUD/USD) have their stops losses moved to break even (entry) as they have moved 1/2 ATR in profit giving us free no risk trades now.
EUR/JPY & USD/CAD both stopped out at break even (entry price) and we are looking for re-entry. Check the update as the day progresses to keep up with the day's activity.
I am happy to have gotten all of those trades to b/e, yesterday I thought they would all be stopping out as noted in yesterday's FXStreet update-

Hello all,
More profit taking on our open orders expected this week. We also have a few new trades coming as the pullback has begun. Too soon to know if it is too soon to enter or now, we can only follow what works - our trading plan.
4 Hour:
Current Drop In Criteria:
EUR/USD buy
EUR/JPY buy
USD/CAD sell
USD/CHF sell
Watching:
USD/JPY short ZLC
AUD/USD buy Drop In

Coming off a month of strong profits as we were able to catch a good portion of all trending pairs it is important to remember not all trades are going to be winners. What is important to understand that our risk/reward on each trade ranges from at least 2:1 to 9:1 so we know that after taking several losses it will only take us a few profitable trades to recover from any draw down. Also we simply do not know what is going to happen at any time and these new entries may just continue to extend our gains on our current positions.

Also the stop losses on the prior open positions (Drop In trades)on the

Hello all,
On the H4 all 5 entries stopped out for 1.67% loss. This is the time to be tough and roll with the punches and keep going. We have re-entries approaching on all 5 pairs on the 4 hour. ATR's all current below for the new trades.
4 Hour:
12:00 GMT: Drop In re-entries
GBP/USD buy re-entry Drop In criteria (atr = 204 )
USD/CAD sell re-entry Drop In criteria (atr = 159)
USD/CHF sell re-entry Drop In criteria (atr = 117)
EUR/USD buy re-entry Drop In criteria (atr = 161)
AUD/USD buy re-entry Drop In criteria (atr = 143)
Looking at the GBP/USD we see we are buying into a falling market, is that a problem?

Let's take a look at the chart and at how the Conquer trading system works to exploit trends. The trend (true trend) is up (positive) and price (stoch) has pulled back to oversold areas (below the 30 level) giving us a price pullback in a up trend. Our entry is the 1st sign price is resuming back toward the trend (making a higher high than the previous price bar.
We are buying price pullbacks into up trends.

analysis (the charts always price everything in) and is mid to long
term with trades lasting anywhere from a few days to portions of the
trades lasting several months and thousands of pips.
Trades are
entered only in the direction of the greater trend in place (defined by
the True Trend indicator). Money management plays a large role in this
trading method (position size & risk/reward) in order to make high

Today's Signal

The amount of trades vary form week to week. We are trading 8 currency pairs and usually when setup begin to trigger they trigger in groups. This week with all pairs being extremely overbought/sold for the last 10 days we only had 3 trades.
10 days ago we were busy with trades (which have taken profit and pieces of those trades ares still open and running with stops at break even (entry points) or locking in further profit). These trades have produced (with open trades) a 7.5% return in those 10 days - which is excellent. Yearly we are looking for mid double digit gains with very very low draw down.
Anyway, that's a bit of what's going on. Have a good weekend everyone.

With all currencies continuing their strong moves into overbought/sold territory we are holding all of our positions as they continue to ride the current moves momentum and we will wait to add to our positions once a pullback occurs on each pair.
Right now the best trade is no trade but to manage our existing positions. Soon enough the pairs will reset and the setups will be rolling in.

Hello all,
Hope you all are enjoying your weekend!
jordan: usd/chf is setup for a 4 hour buy drop in. True trend is positive with
the stoch below the 30 level. Entry is the high of this current per-market bar
+1 pip.
Also a short drop in on the gbp/usd now that the true trend is negative and
the stoch is above the 70 level. Same on the eur/usd.

Hello all,
A few adjustments to the 15 minute on the way:
jordan: was
working on the Conquer 15 minute adjustment to order 2. giving it a
target and also moving both orders to break even much sooner. On
Saturday will have it released
Hannah: Thanks and

jordan: also
on the 4 hour tiny tiny adjustment of moving stops to break even before
the 1st order takes profit too. As you see so many trades have been
going a few hundred pips into profit and we just cannot let that turn
into a loss
jordan: maybe
some trades will be stopped out at break even that would had reached
target but we can just re-enter. just turning up the defensive a bit

Hello all,
The Spec stopped out which brings us back to our 1st 8% trade today (Monday).
We have a sell orders on the Speculative today at 8%
jordan: We have buy zlc on the gbp/usd & aud/usd and a sell zlc on the usd/cad. In order to get into these trades we need to follow the rules for re-entries:
Re-entries
If stopped out of a ZLC without the 1st half of the position taking profit we can re-enter the position.
When buying first we must have a down price bar and then the entry is above the high of that price bar, when selling first we must have an up price bar and the entry is below the low of that price bar.
If the trade does not trigger we again adjust the order to the high/low of the previous candle plus/minus 1 pip.

Plenty of new entries on the 4 hour today and plenty of red on the account currently!
We take losses all the time. but our losses are ALWAYS smaller than our winning trades which are ALWAYS bigger than out losses.
For example we stopped out of a short drop in trade on the gbp/usd 4
hour yesterday. the loss was 70 pips. but the target is 349 pips. 5:1
risk to reward. we like this!
So it is okay to take losses, we know they happen all the time. but we win more.

jordan: i know diana, it takes time. it takes time to trust in

the best place you can be without question
jordan: you know last week I take many trades that stop out but I know around the corner they stick. our losses are small, it is okay
diana: I am seeing that now, jordan. I am still a little foggy
on setting my own tp and sl, but I will read through a few more times

[19:16:36] allan: zlc means the cross off the zero by the true trend from up or down ?

[19:17:32] jordan: that is correct (zlc)
[19:18:37] allan: ok thanks, back to bed cheers
[19:18:38] jordan: on
a drop in limit entry if the trade does not trigger you have to adjust

[19:19:15] jordan: 'If
the trade does not trigger on the open of the new price bar we again
adjust the order to the high of the previous candle plus 1 pip.'

allan:
yep Jordan , could not work out other stuff
[19:16:13]
jordan: that trade never triggered.

[19:16:36]
allan: zlc means the cross
off the zero by the true trend from up or down ?
[19:17:03]
allan: so has there been
updates
[19:17:32]
jordan:
that is correct (zlc)
[19:18:37]
allan: ok thanks ,back to
bed cheers
[19:18:38]
jordan:
on a drop in limit entry if the trade does
not trigger you have to adjust your order every 4 hours to the new high/low of
the previous price bar
[19:19:15]
jordan: 'If the trade does
not trigger on the open of the new price bar we again adjust the order to the
high of the previous candle plus 1 pip.'
[19:19:58]
jordan: the update is at 0:00 GMT
[19:20:04]
allan: ok starting to see
light
[19:20:34]
jordan: several days is all it takes

you'll see
[19:21:05]
allan: and than there was
me

[19:22:11]
allan: ok thanks again for
that Jordan, off now
[19:22:18]
jordan: good chance we have a
zlc short on the eur/usd in 40 minutes. the ATR is 243
[19:22:30]
jordan: okay, see you

Conquer (4 Hour) Lesson
[20:08:23] jordan: I am going over the guppy (gbp/jpy) entry w/ andreas and will talk in here so others can learn too
[20:08:26] bink: 15M USDCAD didn't even wait
[20:08:37] bink: absolutely
[20:08:40] jordan [»] andreas: i recommend opening a demo w/ Oanda
[20:08:46] bink: welcome aboard, andreas
[20:08:58] andreas [»] jordan: Thanks bro
[20:09:30] jordan: we just took a short entry off of the 4 hour time frame on the guppy; drop in entry
[20:09:54] jordan: now in order for a short drop in trade to occur we need to criteria to be met first.
[20:10:03] jordan: know what they are?
[20:10:36] andreas [»] jordan: not really
[20:11:26] andreas [»] jordan: like certain indicators
[20:11:51] andreas [»] jordan: want me to go there to that link now?
[20:13:17] jordan [»] andreas: yes, I am going to teach you this
[20:13:42] jordan: we need two things to happen in order for us to be able to take a short trade on the Conquer drop in.
[20:13:57] jordan: both are from the indicators we use (true trend & stoch)
[20:14:20] jordan: first the true trend must be negative (below the zero line)
[20:14:36] jordan: second the stoch must be ABOVE the 70 level.
[20:14:55] andreas [»] jordan: Its working now
[20:15:23] jordan: this
creates a rubber band like effect (think rubber band being pulled apart
waiting to snap back) as we have the stoch overbought (pulled back)
against the trend which is down
[20:15:27] andreas [»] jordan: Does it always work like this when those parameters are met
[20:16:02] jordan: whenever these parameters are met we have our criteria for setup and begin entering orders
[20:16:34] jordan: (now this is for SELL trades only) when we buy the true trend must be positive & the stoch must be BELOW the 30 level).
[20:16:43] jordan: let me post a pic to help before I explain how we enter
[20:16:51] andreas [»] jordan: ok
[20:20:07] jordan: are you with me or do you have any questions?
[20:24:37] andreas [»] jordan: shOk for now
[20:24:45] andreas [»] jordan: ok
[20:25:28] andreas [»] jordan: when should I pull out of trade?
[20:25:39] jordan: now we look at the section: Once Criteria is Reached
[20:25:52] jordan: Sell:
We place our limit order 1 pip below the low of the previous candle. If
the trade does not trigger on the open of the new price bar we again
adjust the order to the low of the previous candle minus 1 pip. Tip:
The entry moves with each new candle until entry or the entry criteria
is no longer met.
[20:26:23] jordan: so as you can see from the chart we placed our order (green line) where the low of the previous price bar was minus 1 pip
[20:26:34] jordan: that is the entry level, see?
[20:28:23] andreas [»] jordan: Isnt the trade in minus right now?
[20:29:14] andreas [»] jordan: Or shouldn't that be a concern?
[20:30:01] jordan [»] andreas: no, it is positive 15 pips. Yes, most importantly that is not a concern, understanding the trade is!
[20:30:09] jordan [»] andreas: very good
[20:30:46] andreas [»] jordan: should I come back in ?
[20:30:47] jordan: do you see two things? the criteria we need for a short drop in and where and how the entry takes place?
[20:31:10] jordan [»] andreas: no, forget about the trade right now and focus on learning how & why
[20:31:37] andreas [»] jordan: ha ha ok
[20:33:00] andreas [»] jordan: so you follow it manually or just put in parameters and wait?
[20:33:53] andreas [»] jordan: I see you have a system that seems to work quite well
[20:34:33] jordan [»] andreas: do you mean are these market or limit orders?
[20:34:59] andreas [»] jordan: yes
[20:35:44] jordan [»] andreas: indeed and it will get better. so let's work on getting you to achieve your goal, you need to start with me even though you are ready to run! this is all important
[20:36:10] jordan [»] andreas: do you see two things? the criteria we need for a short drop in and where and how the entry takes place?
20:38:01] andreas [»] jordan: I appreciate your instruction
[20:38:16] jordan [»] andreas: should I wait a bit before we go over the stop loss and target for this trade?
[20:38:39] jordan [»] andreas: or maybe just let you ask rather than me guide right now
[20:39:16] andreas [»] jordan: no go ahead please
[20:40:35] jordan: so
we we see that first we need the true trend to be negative and for the
stoch to be above the 70 level in order for us to have the criteria met
for the short drop in entry.
[20:41:12] andreas [»] jordan: Do u normally place 1 trade a day?
[20:42:26] jordan [»] andreas: one
spec order is placed a day. We trade 8 pairs on two different time
frames (15min/4hour) so we can have up to several trades in a day.
[20:43:21] andreas [»] jordan: spec order? (special)
[20:43:45] jordan [»] andreas: speculative. each day I show the orders on the update.
[20:44:40] qjzheng: so the limit is around 137.8 since ATR is 2.21
[20:44:53] jordan: we
wait to this point because it shows us we have a high percentage trade
of price being (hopefully) temporally overbought (stoch above 70) in a
down trend (true trend negative) creating a rubber band effect with
price dropping back toward the trend (reversion to the mean).
[20:45:32] jordan: that is right. I used 110 (220 divided by 2 = 110).
[20:46:35] andreas [»] jordan: do we place trades on our own or together as a group as long as they meet the criteria I guess people don't mind sharing info
[20:47:14] andreas [»] jordan: I know i don't mind.
[20:47:50] jordan: sorry that is the stop qjzheng (half daily ATR) the target is the full ATR on the 4 hour drop in or 221 pips
[20:48:40] qjzheng: ok
[20:48:46] jordan: now we need to place the target & stop. The target is the full ATR (average true range - 14 period (daily time frame)
[20:49:24] jordan: and
the stop is one of two things; the high of the previous move (the
highest price point while the stoch was above the 70 level) or half the
ATR. Which ever is less.
[20:49:44] jordan: in this current trade on the gbp/jpy it was the half ATR or 110 pips

Drop In trade setting up
21:59:42]
jordan: once this price bar closes the Stoch will be above the 70 level w/ the true trend red (which is our criteria for a drop in entry)
[22:00:21]
jordan: so from that point on we will set our limit entry at the low of the previous bar (at 0:00 GMT this current price bar with a low of 138.01 will become the
previous price bar)
[22:00:45]
jordan: if the trade does not trigger during that time period (4 hours) we then adjust the entry to the low of the new previous price bar
These are the first orders to be placed (if trade does not trigger in next 4 hours adjust the orders to the new previous low.

[17:04:54]

JCLsFX: Good News From the Fed
Thu, Feb 21 2008, 21:45 GMT
by Jordan Lindsey
JCL Capital
Hello all,
Finally some good news from the Fed. I am glad to hear they are ready to raise rates in order to protect against the growing inflation we are experiencing.
Some officials also considered that a reversal of the rate cuts may be needed once the economy stabilizes, the minutes showed. Gross domestic product expanded 0.6 percent in the fourth quarter, matching the slowest pace in five years.
“They’d love to raise rates by the end of the year,” said Vincent Reinhart, former director of the Fed Board’s Division of Monetary Affairs. “They could only do it if the slowdown had been short-lived, of course.”
Some members noted “when prospects for growth had improved, a reversal of a portion of the recent easing actions, possibly even a rapid reversal, might be appropriate,” said the minutes, released in Washington today. Still, policy makers didn’t see their rate cut as adding to inflation pressures given the weakness in growth. “Members agreed that inflation was likely to moderate in coming quarters.”
Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) — Federal Reserve officials said “relatively low” interest rates may be needed for some time as they cut their growth forecast and voted for the fastest easing of monetary policy in two decades.

Profit from the Falling Dollar
Fri, Feb 8 2008, 23:08 GMT
by Jordan Lindsey
JCL Capital
The dollar has recently fallen to an all time low against the euro and one of the worst scenarios for the world economy for the last few years has involved a dollar crash. Is it time to prepare for that crash now?
We must ask ourselves, what would cause a dollar crash? It would have to involve America’s dependence on foreign capital it’s most dangerous vulnerability. America’s dependence on foreign capital has lead to its large deficits. Do the US deficits threaten its and global financial stability? So long as the US remains the most attractive foreign investment destination in the world t can sustain such large deficits. However, if some event would occur, like say a crisis in the American financial markets that would spook foreign investors and cause them to ditch the dollar fast then the dollar will tumble.
