A. (11April Europe) Latest Impact
1. The Bank of England on Thursday cut its benchmark interest rate for the second time since the turmoil in financial markets began last August. But the European Central Bank left its benchmark rate on hold, saying that economic problems were not yet squeezing the euro zone economy. Recap: ECB feels happy with the strength of euro.
2. American Airlines grounded nearly half its fleet on Thursday, inconveniencing an estimated 250,000 passengers. American announced 900 flight cancellations, the third day it had to ground planes to fix faulty wiring that could lead to fires.
Say what? Which company does almost 1500 flight cancellations (more will be cancelled this week) within few days to fix faulty wiring? Check the fuel bill s’il vous plait!
