GBPUSD Comments:

  • Anna Coulling:

Cable too continues to move strongly lower following the failure at the 1.60 level and is now testing support in the 1.5870 area. Failure here will see a deeper move back to test the 1.57 price region which is likely to provide a solid base for a recovery in due course.

  • ICN.com analysis team:

The pair has achieved the first daily closing below SMA 200 for the first time since August, 20 confirming the bearish trend.

  • Ilian Yotov:

Dovish Bank of England outlook on the economy coupled with uncertainty about Greece and the U.S. "fiscal cliff" could continue to weign on the GBP.

  • Joshua Martinez:

GBPUSD daily time frame is sitting on a level of support. Expecting bullish rally.

  • Richard C. Lee:

Current inflation in the UK is likely to keep any monetary expansion at bay for the short term. Expectations will shift towards further asset purchases in 2013. Until then, pound momentum will mount against the US dollar.

  • Tad DeVan:

The GBPUSD remains in a large trading range and is slowly moving bearish. I anticipate this trend to continue overall over the next week, month and quarter.

  • Yohay Elam:

Recent data shows that the UK had a one time Olympic leap in Q3 and likely entered a "triple dip" recession in Q4.
