With a career spanning almost 30 years, Carol Harmer is undoubtedly one of the most respected and established technical analysts in the UK and is a founding member of the STA. (The Society of Technical Analysts)

Carol’s career started in 1981 on the futures trading floor for LIFFE.

1983 Carol began work as Senior Technical Analyst for Midland Bank (which was taken over by HSBC in 1992).

1986 Carol was again head hunted for the role of Manager of Technical Analysis for Nomura Bank.

1991-1996 Carol was hired as Head of Technical Trading at Credit Suisse. She also appeared weekly on Bloomberg, CNBC and Reuters financial TV to provide her opinion on financial markets.

1996 Carol formed a company to train independent traders in technical analysis and launched ‘Charmer Charts’ to provide daily analysis reports for the established local traders on the LIFFE floor. She would be present on the floor so that traders could talk to her directly and continued appearances on financial news channels from the trading floor.

1999 The LIFFE trading floor closed but Carol continued with Charmer Charts for futures traders who moved on to screen trading.

2006 Carol decided to take a break and moved to France.

2008 Several traders contacted Carol to request her Technical Analysis service again to help deal with the very volatile conditions and Technical Analysis Reports.com was established.
