FX Markets Range Bound as Drivers Dry Up in the Summer Heat

ACM − Advanced Currency Markets − The short term uptrend mentioned yesterday gained some serious power just before the US open and the pair skyrocketed through all resistance, including the 1.4240 level, stopping out a number of short players in the process. US economic indicators - New York Empire and Philly Fed (Aug): improving conditions by BHF−Bank

Contrary to the New York Empire, the Philadelphia Fed index had deteriorated in July, from –2.2 to –7.5. Given the July improvement in the new orders component, we expect it to have risen in August too, but only to –3, thus remaining in negative territory; it has been there since December 2007, except for September 2008.
