European markets rise on Banks recovery; Pound rallies, Euro in range

FXstreet.com − GBP/USD has been the biggest mover of the session; against the Dollar, the Sterling has moved from intra−day low at 1.3863 to test 1.4040 Mar 6 low, although 1.4040 has not given way so far. EUR/GBP sell off has supported the Pound's rally; the Euro has dropped to around 0.9190 from intra day high at 0.9293, which means giving away one third of its gains from 90.00 on Mar 9.

Net exports contributed negatively to GDP growth in Q4 for the first time since Q1/2007 due to the global recession. The nominal January trade deficit might have narrowed slightly again to $38.5bn , particularly due to the continued decline in petroleum prices. Both exports and imports are likely to have continued falling noticeably.
