Forex Trading Strategies Another uptick in German IFO has EURUSD surging higher again by Saxo Bank

Yesterday's headline grabber was the 35−year low in Consumer Confidence expectations. If this, combined with the −10.7% year−on−year drop in home prices for Jan. isn't deeply recessionary data in an economy that is 70% based on private consumption, we'd like to know what is. The headline Consumer Confidence number was also far lower than expected − the worst number since the month of the beginning of the Iraq War 5 years ago, in fact.

German Ifo March business climate index rises to 104.8, beats consensus UPDATE (Thomson Financial News)

The Ifo research institute said its March business climate index rose to 104.8 from 104.1 in February, well above analysts' forecasts of a decline to 103.4. The March business assessment index, which measures current conditions, rose to 111.5 from 110.3 in February.
