US economic indicators - Consumer confidence is likely to decline further in October by BHF−Bank
In September, the Conference Board's consumer confidence fell noticeably by almost 6 points to 99.8, and we expect it to decline again to 97.5 in October. Tighter credit conditions, lower home and higher energy prices as well as the deterioration in private employment growth will all have had a negative impact on consumers' mood.

Swedish Riksbank hikes repo rate to 4.00 pct from 3.75 pct UPDATE (Thomson Financial News)
The Riksbank said it has raised its key repo rate by 25 basis points to 4.00 pct, and reiterated that the interest rate needs to be raised further in the future. During the first half of 2008 the repo rate is expected to be around 4.25 pct.
