Ahead of the Bell: Consumer Sentiment (Thomson Financial News)
Continued troubles in the housing market are expected to take a toll on a revised consumer sentiment index. A final version of the Reuters/University of Michigan index of consumer sentiment for October will be released at 10 a.m. EDT on Friday. The market anticipates a reading of 82, according to the median forecast of economists surveyed by Thomson Financial. That's down from the preliminary reading of 83.8 issued two weeks ago.
