Dollar and yen both edged mildly lower today but no follow through selling is seen yet. Liquidity drops in European session with market holiday in UK. However, further volatility will likely be seen as the day goes, with Trichet's speech and Existing Home Sales from US on the cards. Euro's rally is partly supported by strong rebound in EUR/JPY as well as expectation for another rate hike from ECB on Sep 7.

Daily Global Commentary - Gain in New Home Sales Is Inconsistent with Reports from Home Builders by Northern Trust
