Support is the broken top 1.9928, followed by the bottoms 1.9743 and 1.9653. in upward direction resistance is the broken bottom from 30 July at 2.0177, after which comes the top from 9 August 2.0392. Break at the last level leads to test of the 26 year top at 2.0645.

We expect durable goods orders to moderate from June's 1.3% growth to 0.6% in July. Our forecast implies a 2.1% annual growth rate; this is substantially higher than 2007's average annual growth of 0.5%.
