German ZEW economic indicator has dropped sharply lower than expected in July, to a level of 10.4 from the 20.3 points level reached on the previous month, according to the latest data reported by the ZEW institute. This forward looking indicator advances an steep decline on the German economic activity for the first months of 2008.

DATA SNAP: UK June CPI +2.4% On Year; Core Marks 10-Yr High (Dow Jones)

U.K. consumer price inflation eased by a smaller degree than expected in June, while core inflation accelerated to a 10-year high, the Office for National Statistics said Tuesday. The consumer price index gained 0.2% on the month in June, following a 0.3% rise in May, and rose 2.4% on the year after a 2.5% increase in May, the ONS said.
