In yesterday's early hours trading of the Pound was in the range 1.9824 - 1.9846 US Dollars. During the US session the Cable climbed to 1.9889. This morning the currency pair was exchanging at levels 1.9867 - 1.9886.

UK May M4 up annual 13.8 pct, highest since Oct 2006's 13.9 pct (AFX News)

The UK's broad measure of money supply continued to grow at a strong pace during May, figures from the Bank of England confirmed today. In its first release of the money supply during the month, the central bank said its preferred M4 measure rose by a monthly 1.2 pct, and by 13.8 pct year-on-year.
