EMU annual inflation, flat at 1.9% in April (FXstreet.com)

Annual inflation remained flat at 1.9% in, while it increased 0.6% from March, according to the latest report published by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. CPI has been brought down to the limits established by the ECB’s comfort zone, with a maximum 2.0% annual rate, in April last year annual CPI rose 2.5%.

UK headline average earnings dip in 3 mths to March; claimant count down UPDATE (AFX News)

Lower bonus payments in the financial services sector caused headline average earnings growth to drop in the three months to March, while unemployment as measured by the claimant count fell for the seventh month in a row in April, official figures showed. The Office for National Statistics said average earnings growth including bonuses fell to 4.5 pct in the three months to March.
