Aussie surged to new 10 year high against dollar after stronger than expected retail sales data which rose by 0.9% in Feb, more than double of 0.4% consensus. This is fueling more speculation that RBA will raise rate by 25bps later this week to bring the overnight cash rate to 6.50%.

DATA SNAP: Energy Pushes Euro-Zone Producer Prices Higher (Dow Jones)
Price pressures at the euro zone's factory gates picked up in February as energy producers raised their tariffs for the first time since July. Producer prices rose 0.3% on the month and were up 2.9% on February 2006, data from the European Union statistics agency Eurostat showed Tuesday.

UK March construction sector PMI rises to 58.9, highest since Dec 2003 UPDATE (AFX News)
UK construction sector growth jumped to its highest level in over three years in March as new orders rose sharply over the month, the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply said. The headline purchasing managers index rose to 58.9 in March from 57.3 in February, its highest level since December 2003, CIPS said.
