Global FX Daily - U.S. Edition - JPY up in Asia, steadier in Europe by Mellon Foreign Exchange
The key issue is whether the moves become protracted, for example, by breaking key levels and 115.16 (Mar 5 low) and 114.45 (Dec 2006 low) are significant for USD-JPY in this regard. A test of these levels looks likely if equity markets continue falling today, with the focus very much on what happens in the US.

We expect fourth quarter’s current account deficit to slow to $200.5 billion down from $225.6 billion in the previous month as imports moderate (largely the result of lower petroleum-related prices) and exports remain strong.

Euro zone Jan industrial output down 0.2 pct vs Dec, up 3.7 yr-on-yr (AFX News)
Euro zone new industrial output fell 0.2 pct in January from December, but was up 3.7 pct year-on-year, EU statistics agency Eurostat reported. Economists polled by AFX News had forecast a month-on-month rise of 0.4 pct and an increase of 4.3 pct from a year earlier.

Employment in the UK weaker than expected, wages up (FXstreet.com)
The amount of unemployed workers applying for benefits decreased by 3.8 k in February, being the eight consecutive decline in the jobless count rate, yet the decrease being shorter than the 8k expected by the analysts and much shorter than the 13.5K decrease posted in January.
