The Week Ahead

We say goodbye to August with a busy week by FXstreet.com

It certainly is going to be a very busy week, with many events to watch. Thus, market volatility could be ongoingly seen during the whole week. We pay extra attention to the 4 Majors and the CAD, where GDP figures are released. Let's review them all.

On Monday (Aug 27) we have the following events to watch:
In the USA, Exinting Home Sales is an important event to follow.
In Japan, although BoJ didnt change its interest rate, the BOJ meeting minutes are worth being monitored.

On Tuesday (Aug 28) we have the second busiest day of the week with the following events to watch:
In the USA, Consumer confidence and "FOMC Meeting" are the important events to watch, with special focus on the FOMC minutes ahead of the September meeting. Richmod Fed Manufacturing figures will also be released.
In Germany, the CPI and especially the IFO Climate survey are the events to watch.

on Wednesday (Aug 29) we have the following events to watch:
In Switzerland , its leading index is an important event.
In Germany, Consumer Confidence that shows german domestic confidence is a notable event.
In Japan, Retail sales will be released and that is worth keeping an eye on.

On Thursday (Aug 30) we have the following events to watch:
In the US, the GDP is the major event to follow, with the Housing price index being another important event for the day
In Germany, we have the Unemployment rate.
In Canada, the Current account is an important event to follow.
In Japan, the CPI figures are worth being followed.
In Austraila, both the Retal Sales and Trade Balance events are very important, thus monitoring them is key.

On Friday (Aug 31), we have the busiest and biggest day of the week with the following events:
In Switzerland, the CPI is a remarkable event to watch
In the Eurozone the CPI, the Unemployment rate and Consumer Confidence are three big events to watch
In Germany, consumer confidencefigures are released.
In the USA we have major events like Personal spending and personal Income (+Core PCE), and also the Chicago PMI should be taken into account, with Factory Orders another event to follow.
In Canada, the release of the GDP is a major event to follow.
