Longer term charts can take the ebbs and flows of bounces and pullbacks while still trading within a pattern. A 240 minute chart will move more within a single candle than a 30 or 60 minute typically can or will. This has to do with the power of time: If given enough of it prices will cover more ground.

Cable is not out of the woods yet

Mizuho Corporate Bank − Just managing the strongest weekly close this year. However, Cable is not out of the woods yet as it hovers at the upper edge of a massive Ichimoku ‘cloud', the Lagging Span hits the ‘cloud', and moving averages do not confirm. Hopefully with a little help from other currencies it will manage to break above here this week.

The Euro declined 0.5% against the dollar in last week's trade as a rise in risk appetite boosted demand for higher− yielding currencies. The overall trend in the Euro continues to remain bullish.

Friday Notes - Rebound in car sales lifts retail sales by UniCredit Group

Retail sales continue to be dominated by huge swings in car sales even after the expiration of the cash for clunkers program. According to industry reports, total vehicle sales rebounded by 131⁄2% in October after plunging by 35% in September.

Friday Notes - No inflation pressure in sight by UniCredit Group

Seasonally adjusted gasoline prices rose mildly in October, but natural gas prices surged by about 30%. As a result of the monthly 0.2% increase, the yoy inflation rate would rise further to −1⁄4%, which is the highest since March.
