Downside correction towards 1.4250

We expect the pair to continue the downside correction towards 1.4250 before rebounding back to the upside on the intraday basis targeting 1.4550, as far as 1.4200 is intact.

US economic indicators - Consumer confidence indicators (Aug): lack of optimism despite signs of stabilisation by BHF−Bank

The Conference Board's consumer confidence rebounded from its all−time low in April and May, but has fallen back since then, despite signs that the economy is stabilising: consumers are burdened with high debt levels, sharp wealth losses, rising unemployment and slow income growth. As the University of Michigan's (UMI) preliminary August consumer sentiment weakened from 66.0 to 63.2, we expect consumer confidence to have at best remained on its relatively low level of 46.6 in August.
