Daily Technical Analysis − EUR: Attempt longs at 1.4100, adding to 1.4000

Mizuho Corporate Bank − Rallying slowly from retracement support and looking set to move a little higher again today. Only a weekly close above 1.4200 will really get things going and another big round of short−covering. Hopefully a whole host of other currencies will join in with this move adding momentum.

Cable finally has broke higher by Charmer Charts.com

The break of 1.6665 has taken this to the next level of 1.6720. Here this should halt a little before continuing its upward journey.

Friday Notes - EMU, M3: Severe credit downturn by UniCredit Group

M3 growth has been on a slowing trend for one year and a half. Looking at lending dynamics, in April the flow of credit to the private sector was negative for the fourth time in the last five months: household lending is at a standstill while corporate lending continues its deceleration from April 2008's peak. As economic activity continues to shrink, in May we see a further easing in M3 growth and slower loans growth, particularly to firms.
