The Yen was sold in Asian session

FOREX.com − EUR/JPY made a move from the 117.25 arena to highs posted above 118.85. The pair eased out of the session closer to the 118.00 figure ahead of some European data including: German IFO, Import Price Index, and Euro Zone Current Account. GBP/JPY rose from a low of 124.22 to highs of over 126.15 before stabilizing at 125.70.

The euro could face increased selling pressures over the next 24 hours of trading as economists forecast the German IFO business confidence survey to slip to a record low reading of 81.0 from 82.6 in November. Fading demands from the global economy paired with financial uncertainties have certainly dragged on the export−driven economy, and conditions are likely to get worse as the Bundesbank expects economic growth to contract 0.8% this year.

Some members of the Bank of Japan policy board said an interest rate of 0.1 percent could be the lowest level to maintain the functioning of the money market, minutes of its Dec. 18−19 board meeting showed on Tuesday. But one member said the central bank should not rule out the possibility of cutting rates further, the minutes showed.
