FX Market Readings: BOE and ECB interest rate decision time − expected market moves by Dr. S. Sivaraman

Yesterday EURO and GBP made the rise during US session start time and later consolidated near high and started the slide towards close and made the initial rise and dropped during Japanese session today. They are expected to make a drop below low before the data release time.

USD/JPY

Technical Summary for Majors − USD/JPY − Pulling back from Tuesday's rally by Windsor Brokers Ltd

The Euro (EUR) fell to USD strength in Asia before weak US data allowed the 1.30 level to be targeted again. EUR/JPY selling weighed as US stock losses mounted. September European Retail Sales were weak at −0.2% vs. +0.3% previously. Overall the EUR/USD traded with a low of 1.2529 and a high of 1.3115 before closing the day at 1.2980 in the New York session. Looking ahead, the ECB meets tonight and is expected to cut to 3.25% from 3.75%.

Britain's service sector shrank at a record pace and factory output posted its longest decline since the 1980 recession, in a slew of bad news on Wednesday boosting the chances of a big Bank of England rate cut this week.

DATA SNAP: Australian Oct Unemployment Rate 4.3% (Dow Jones)

Australia's unemployment rate stayed at a better−than−expected seasonally adjusted 4.3% in October from September. The number of employed rose 34,300, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said Thursday. Economists on average had expected an unemployment rate of 4.4% in October, with the number of employed down 7,500.

INSTANT VIEW−NZ unemployment rises to 5−year high (Thomson Financial News)

New Zealand's jobless rate rose to its highest level in nearly five years in the third quarter, as the recession started to be felt, easing the tight labour market and likely paving the way to further rate cuts. The unemployment rate rose to 4.2 percent −− its highest since December 2003 −− from 3.9 percent in the previous quarter as the growth in the labour force outstripped the growth in jobs.
