DATA SNAP: Australian CPI Slowing Down (Dow Jones)
Australia's consumer price index rose 1.2% in the third quarter of 2008 from the second quarter and rose 5.0% from a year earlier, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday. Economists on average had expected that the CPI rose 1.0% from the previous quarter and rose 4.9% from a year earlier. In the second quarter, the CPI rose 1.5% on quarter and 4.5% on year.
