Daily Market Commentary − The dollar should remain under pressure today by Global Forex Trading
Dollar/yen sank aggressively, closing on Friday below the trendline rising since March 17. My model remains short, which is good, as a double top targeting 105.75 unfolded. Initial support is at 105.60 from a 50−point pivot that targets 105.10 and 106.10. Distant support is at 104.50 from another 50−point pivot, which targets 104.00 and 105.00. Immediate resistance is seen at 106.75 from another 50−point pivot, which targets 106.25 and 107.25.

Friday Notes - EMU CPI: Further acceleration ahead by HVB Group
We see inflation accelerating further to 3.9% y−o−y in June. Upward pressure should still come from energy, as oil prices remain on a steadily rising trend. Strong non−core components will prevent any relief in headline inflation in the near term.

Japan May Housing Starts Down 6.5% On Year (Dow Jones)
Japan's housing starts fell 6.5% in May from a year earlier to 90,804 units, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Monday. The result was worse than the 3.6% decline forecast by a Dow Jones and Nikkei poll of economists. That was the 11th straight month of declines. Housing starts fell 8.7% in April and dropped 15.6% in March.

DATA SNAP: UK Consumer Confidence Weakest Since March 1990 (Dow Jones)
U.K. consumers are feeling gloomier than they have for 18 years, indicating that consumer spending could slow sharply in the months ahead, a survey by polling firm GfK NOP showed Monday. The survey's headline measure of consumer confidence fell to −34 in June from −29 in May, its lowest level since March 1990, when the U.K. was in the grip of recession.
