Below inverted channel off 1.5341 and Short Term Double Top off 1.5710 (see graph), after near perfect Reversal Day at high: 1st Support area at 1.5594/ .5592 (today's low?/ weekly projection band bottom), with next levels at 1.5558/ .5555 (daily Bollinger bottom/ last week low), where pause favored.

Friday Notes - ECB rate cuts – merely postponed! by HVB Group
A further increase in energy and food prices should have also driven consumer prices higher m−o−m in April. The y−o−y rate should, however, decline after the early Easter holiday and the disappearance of the base effect of the tuition fees introduced in several federal states in the pre−year month.

UPDATE: German Consumer Sentiment Defies Pessimists (Dow Jones)
Consumer confidence in Germany turned strongly positive, soaring to the highest level since October 2007. German market research group GfK's forward−looking consumer climate index soared to 5.9 points for May from an upwardly revised 4.8 points in April, it said.

Japanese retail sales rose as expected in March from a year earlier, but economists said the rise may have been influenced by rising prices, rather than stronger consumer spending.
