Hedging Range Trades − EURUSD to Retrace Before Trend Reversal, Hedge Offers Entry by FXCM

Traders looking to protect their existing short EURUSD position or enter short at a favorable price may consider a hedge long EURUSD above 1.5647 with a target at 1.5803. Once the profit target is hit, we expect the bearish trend to resume. We will maintain a stop−loss on our hedge position should EURUSD break out to the downside prior to the limit being hit. Trading News Report - Will U.K. GDP Provide Tradeable Event Risk? by FXCM

The GBP/USD has remained in a trading range between 1.9600 to 2.000 for nearly a month. The upcoming first quarter growth numbers may provide the impetus to break it free and put it onto its next trend phase. The economic report is expected to show growth slowed for a consecutive quarter to 0.4%, bringing the annualized rate to 2.6%, and remaining below its recent growth trend average of 3%.

Japan Mar Core CPI +1.2% On Year; Mkt Expected +1.2% (Dow Jones)

Japan's core consumer price index rose 1.2% in March from a year earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said Friday, marking its biggest increase in almost a decade. The reading matched the 1.2% gain forecast by economists polled by Dow Jones Newswires and Nikkei. It was the fastest rise since a 1.8% increase in March 1998.
