Forex Technical Report − The Euro rose further against the American Dollar by iFOREX.bg

EUR/USD Open 1.5114 High 1.5139 Low 1.4981 Close 1.5085

The Euro rose further against the American Dollar yesterday remained in narrow range yesterday, reaching 1.5140, which is the first resistance today. Next resistance is 1.5200, followed by 1.5265. In downward direction support is given by the yesterday's bottom 1.4980, followed by 1.4910, and 1.4820.

EMU economic indicators - M3 growth probably accelerated to 11.6% yoy in January by BHF−Bank

Adjusted unemployment fell sharply by 89k in January, much more markedly than had been estimated. The normal weather−related negative effect on outdoor jobs was dampened by relatively mild temperatures and the relief offered by the winter short−time allowance. Thus the decline in adjusted unemployment seems to be exaggerated this winter, and there will probably be a setback in spring, particularly as economic growth is slowing down. However, in February temperatures were again higher than usual.

Japan Jan Indus Output −2.0% On Mo; Mkt Expected −0.6% (Dow Jones)

Japanese industrial output fell 2.0% on month in January, marking the first fall in two months, the government said Thursday. Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires and Nikkei estimated on average that industrial production had fallen 0.6% in January after adjustment for seasonal factors.

Japan January Overall Retail Sales Up 1.5% On Year (Dow Jones)

Japanese retail sales rose 1.5% in January from a year earlier, marking the sixth straight month of increases, the government said Thursday. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry also said sales at large−scale retailers declined 1.9% on year, after adjustment for the change in the number of stores. That was the second straight month of drops.
