Daily Market Commentary − The dollar rallied unexpectedly on Wednesday by Global Forex Trading

The dollar rallied unexpectedly on Wednesday as the market decided to actually focus on the currency's oversold status. Sterling/dollar sank to a new low for the downtrend. Cable should remain under pressure, but a bounce on profit taking is likely if the BoE keeps rates unchanged. Below 1.9555, strong support comes at 1.9475.

Japan November Leading Indicators 10.0; Coincident 33.3 (Dow Jones)

Japan's index of leading economic indicators stood at 10.0 in November, staying below the boom−or−bust threshold of 50.0 for the fourth straight month, the government said Thursday, suggesting the economy may slow down in the months ahead. The result matched forecasts of economists surveyed by Dow Jones, who estimated on average a reading of 10.0 for the index. In October, it stood at a revised 18.2.

DATA SNAP: Australia Nov Trade Deficit A$2.25B (Dow Jones)

Australia's seasonally adjusted balance on trade in goods and services narrowed to a deficit of A$2.25 billion in November from a revised deficit of A$2.86 billion in October, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said Thursday. The figure is lower than analysts' expectations of a deficit of A$2.5 billion. Australia recorded a deficit of A$754 million in the year−earlier period.
