EURUSD−EUR continues to build on its recovery off the 1.4310 low printed on Dec 20'07 following a decline prompted by its failure at 1.4967 in late Dec'07.The pair remains biased to the upside in both the medium and longer term but needs to break through an over head resistance at the 1.4751/52 zone, which represents its Nov 09'07/Dec 11'07.

OUTLOOK UK retail sales, manufacturing data to be overshadowed by BoE decision (Thomson Financial News)

The British Retail Consortium's December retail sales monitor will be one of the first surveys to give an encompassing snapshot of how the high street fared during December. Footfall surveys showed the number of people visiting shops during the whole month was down compared to a year ago and several retailers have issued downbeat trading statements, but there was evidence of a late rush of shoppers in the run up to Christmas and a strong start to the sales.

New Zealand's trade deficit narrows in November as dairy exports rise (Thomson Financial News)

New Zealand's trade deficit narrowed in November to 646 million New Zealand dollars from 717 million dollars in October as exports of diary products and oil grew, government agency Statistics New Zealand said Monday. But the deficit was more than the trade gap of 465 million dollars forecast by economists. In November 2006, the deficit was 820 million dollars.
