Sunrise Market Commentary: Currencies - Dollar pressure eases slightly ahead of the payrolls by KBC Bank

Today, market attention will be focused on the key US payrolls rapport. After the very weak ISM manufacturing survey, the markets will be highly attentive for any hints whether or not the US economy might slip into recession in the first half of 2008. The consensus is for a rather moderate 70K increase of new jobs which looks reasonable after yesterday's ADP report.

US employment in private sector increased by 40.000 in December (FXstreet.com)

After two months of spectacular increase in job creation, the US work market will post a rather more moderate increase in employment in December, according to the latest ADP employment report. Non farm private sector jobs increased by 40,000 from November to December, following a 173,000 increase in November.
