Daily Technical Analysis − EUR: Clear−out time as the little ‘head−and−shoulders' pushes prices below trendline support by Mizuho Corporate Bank

Clear−out time as the little ‘head−and−shoulders' pushes prices below trendline support. The Euro is oversold and this year's high at 1.4968 will stay as a top for at least another month, maybe three. We feel that any drop towards 1.4100 is an excellent medium term buying opportunity for further US dollar weakness later next year.

Friday Notes - Holiday Season: So−so sales anticipated by HVB Group

The November data surprised on the upside and showed the first increase after four consecutive declines. We suspect that was mainly a technical rebound, and momentum will not be sustained given that currency appreciation and tighter credit standards have not yet fully displayed their nasty effects.

Japan's tertiary index, which measures spending in the services sector, rose 1.1 percent in October from the previous month as the cold weather buoyed spending on winter clothing, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said on Monday.
