Daily Forex Technical Report − Massive Carry Trade Unwinding Sends Yen Sharply Higher by ActionForex.com
Japanese yen surges sharply higher as the week starts, following tumbling Asian stock markets on concern of deepening in the credit market crisis. The MSCI Asia−Pacific Index of regional shares fell 3% today, largest drop since Aug. 17. USD/JPY takes out 110 level and reaches a 18−month low of 109.84. Meanwhile EUR/JPY is now back to 160 level.

Japan Govt:Oct Consumer Sentiment Index 42.8 Vs 44.1 In Sep (Dow Jones)
Consumer sentiment in Japan worsened in October for the first time in two months, the government said Monday. The index for the Cabinet Office's consumer confidence survey, which measures consumers' economic outlook for the coming six months, fell to 42.8 in October from 44.1 in September.
