Friday Notes - Ailing USD hurts sentiment by HVB Group

The BoE is likely to leave the repo rate on hold. The September minutes, as well as several remarks from MPC members, showed that the BoE, though it has definitely dropped its tightening bias, still sees the impact of the ongoing financial crisis on the economy as unclear. However, the fact that, earlier this week, the BoE Credit Conditions Survey showed that credit supply to companies will be significantly reduced in Q4 increases the chances that BoE could be forced to cut rates.
