
CFTC approves approves changes requested by the NFA by FXstreet.com
NFA has received notice that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission has approved changes to NFA Financial Requirements Section 11 and the Interpretive Notice entitled "Forex Transactions." The amendments increase the minimum net capital requirement for Forex Dealer Members (FDMs) to $5,000,000.

Swiss CPI edges up in September (FXstreet.com)
Consumer prices have increased slightly in Switzerland pushed by higher prices in energy food and beverages, according to the Swiss statistics office. Swiss CPI has risen 0.1% on the month and 0.7% since September 2006, with education posting the highest increase; 1% on the month.

Japan Sept monetary base up 0.7 percent yr−on−yr, 2nd straight monthly rise (Thomson Financial News)
Japan's monetary base rose 0.7 percent in September from a year earlier to 87.573 trillion yen, the second straight monthly rise, preliminary data from the Bank of Japan showed Tuesday.
