In August the Euro made a correction, but overall dropping for the month was insignificant. In force remains the middle term upward channel with bottom limit 1.3447 and upper limit 1.4375.

Japan Aug Trade Surplus +287.6% Y/Y; Mkt Expected +39.4% (Dow Jones)

Japan's merchandise trade surplus jumped 287.6% in August from a year earlier to Y743.2 billion, the Ministry of Finance said Wednesday. It was the first rise in two months and may help alleviate concerns about a Japanese export slowdown hampering the economy's long−running expansion.

New Zealand trade deficit slightly lower in August (Thomson Financial News)

New Zealand's trade deficit fell slightly in August compared to a year earlier with a fall in imports outpacing lower exports, official figures showed Wednesday. The trade deficit for August was 945 million New Zealand dollars which was slightly higher than economists' expectations but down from the 951 million dollar deficit in August 2006.
