M3 growth should have remained strong and well above any ECB comfort level. While bank lending to private households is expected to have decelerated slightly, loans to non-financial corporations should have grown very solidly. This underpins our view of strong momentum in eurozone investment.

DATA SNAP: Australian Apr Retail Sales Rise 0.1% Vs Mar (Dow Jones)
Australian retail sales rose a lower-than-expected 0.1% to a seasonally adjusted A$19.01 billion in April from A$19.00 billion in March and rose from A$17.90 billion a year earlier, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said Wednesday. Economists surveyed ahead of the announcement on average had expected a 0.5% rise in sales for April.

ROUNDUP - Japan April output falls on slower US demand, IT inventory adjustments (AFX News)
Industrial output in April fell unexpectedly from a month earlier as automakers slashed production in response to slower demand in the US, and as the electronics devices sector curtailed output due to ongoing inventory adjustments in the IT sector.
