New year high on no big news on G7, with move above 1.3317 (monthly Downtrendline off 1992 on synthetic charts) and above 1.3471 (LT daily Downtrenline off 1992 on same charts). Above LT channel top off 1.2877 (see graph).

Friday Notes - US employment heyday to fizzle in Spring by HVB Group

After a blip in February, March CPI inflation should slow down again to 2.7%. The largest downward contribution should come from the housing component, following the announced reduction in electricity and gas tariffs. On the other hand, oil price increases in past months should be felt in transport costs and heating fuel.

Japan Govt: March Consumer Sentiment Index 46.8 Vs Feb 48.4 (Dow Jones)

Japanese consumer sentiment in March worsened for the first time in three months, the government said Tuesday. The index for the Cabinet Office's consumer confidence survey, which measures consumers' economic outlook for the coming six months, fell 1.6 points to 46.8 in March from February's reading at 48.4. The figure was 48.1 in January and 45.9 in December.
