Current Session: Europe

EUR/USD

Daily Technical Analysis - EUR: A sustained break above last week's high at 1.3442 targets 1.3475 by Mizuho Corporate Bank

Well bid despite these historically very high levels, yet lagging this month's best performers (Australian dollar and Brazilian real). A sustained break above last week's high at 1.3442 targets 1.3475 and then the all-time high at 1.3670. Implied volatility might then pick up a little further.

Friday Notes - Rising risks for us consumption by HVB Group

Investors will look for details on the decision to change the statement. Bernanke told Congress that weakening the rate hike bias was done not to show neutrality (he said an anti-inflation bias is still in force) but to add “flexibility.” To us, that means the Fed may ease at some point, but only in reaction to an economic slowdown that is much worse than experienced up to now.
