U.S. Update: Dollar under heavy pressure by FXstreet.com Independent Analyst Team
At this point, dollar is set to begin a longer term falling trend. Could it last? Euro zone remains facing the worst recession since WW II and rising oil prices won't favor the outlook. Despite the jump in confidence, still seems reaction is overextended as current strength could also give ECB the chance to decide more aggressive monetary policy if needed. U.K. credit conditions have been downgraded this week from stable to negative, while despite Yosano's words a strong yen is never welcome in Japan. Early to say, Usd/Jpy seems to found a base around Y94.00 and is slowly regaining the upside.

Pair reached 1.4000 and at the time, rebound there yet bullish trend is strong enough for another peak higher. Current candle open under previous doji close, suggesting the beginning of a short downside correction as long as maximum remains unbroken.
USD/JPY: We should be trading the bear side of the market by Master The Markets
The first important point to note is that we have now broken below the neckline of the head and shoulders pattern of the last 3 months giving us a clear signal that we should be trading the bear side of the market on a longer term trending basis.

EMU economic indicators - German ifo business climate (May): unchanged by BHF−Bank
The ifo business climate for Germany might have only stabilised in May, after its unexpected surge in April. However, the German ZEW economic sentiment and the US ISM manufacturing index have improved recently. German yield spreads have widened somewhat, as short−term interest rates have continued declining and long−term rates have gone up.
