
FX Path: Manual vs. Automated Trailing Stops in Forex Trading by James Chen
The markets are somewhat quiet today, so I thought I would give my perspective on trailing stops, specifically the difference between manual and automated trailing stops. I touch on this subject relatively often in my talks and webinars, so I wanted to give my thoughts on this important topic.

Yen weakens and net long JPY positions are reduced
Danske Bank A/S − There have only been a few changes to overall speculative positions, which were built slightly in the week to 10 February. Speculative investors remain net long USD against all currencies, covered in the IMM data, except JPY. Following a run−up in USD/JPY towards 92 by 10 February, on improved risk sentiment ahead of the presentation of the US financial rescue plan, speculative investors reduced net long JPY positions slightly.
Price action on USD/JPY has formed an uptrend by FX Solutions
Price action on USD/JPY, a daily chart of which is shown, has begun to form an uptrend support line extending from the second test of the 13−year lows (just above 87.00) hit in late January.
EUR USD is in a range between 1,2730 and 1,2940 by Mataf.net
The volatility is high. ForexTrend 1H, daily (Mataf Trend Indicator) is in a bearish configuration. 4H ForexSto (Modified Stochastic) indicate a bearish pressure on EUR USD.

Friday Notes - The ZEW growth expectations now extend into the second half of the year by UniCredit Group
Contrary to the recent bleak hard data, numerous leading indicators around the globe are pointing slightly north at the beginning of the year. This is nurturing the hope that the economy will at least stabilize after mid−year. The ZEW growth expectations now extend into the second half of the year. Despite the strong increase already in January, the level remains well below the long−term average of over +25. For that reason, we also expect a substantial increase in the growth expectations in February.

USD/CAD: Dollar trying to find support at 1.2450 (FXstreet.com)
The USD has moved slowly but steady against its Canadian counterpart, from daily low at 1.2395 breaking resistance level at 1.2450 in Early U.S session, to reach as high as 1.2487 before dropping back to test 1.2450 support.
