
Forex Trading Today: ISM relatively flat, Gold and Crude a bit Bullish… by Tim Salem
As we move through the day, the Dollar is steadily making quiet headway against most majors, despite the intraday Bull Flags in Crude Oil and Gold. ISM clocks in just slightly below estimates at a comprehensive 32.4 which is obviously still indicating Manufacturing Contraction…as it is the lowest Point since June of 1980!

Dollar Broadly Higher In Continued Illiquid Trading
(Dow Jones Newswires) − The dollar is higher against its major rivals Friday morning as the euro continued to retreat in thin market conditions. Friday morning in New York, the euro was at $1.3880 from $1.3963 Wednesday afternoon, before the New Year's Day holiday, and was at GBP0.9603 from GBP0.9586.

US Manufacturing ISM tumbles to historic low in December (FXstreet.com)
Manufacturing activity contracted in the United States in December for its fifth consecutive month, as the ISM Index dropped to its lowest level since 1980, according to data by the Institute for Supply Management. The PMI index fell in December to 32.4, from the 36.2 level reached in November.
