The Disciplined Trader: Oversold Pairs are Reversing by Pierre Charlebois

I would expect dollar weakness for some time going forward now. It looks like Thursday was the start of a long overdue counter−trend rally in the dollar pairs with Friday being the break−out day. I expect some retracement however I believe the dollar rally is over for a few weeks.

FX Thoughts for the Day − Finding Support at 1.1055, the pair has seen a bounce of over 150−pips by Kshitij Consultancy Service

Finding Support at 1.1055, the pair has seen a bounce of over 150−pips during the day. The rise has brought the pair close to a minor Resistance for the day at 1.1280.
If the Resistance holds during the US session, a fall towards 1.1150 could be seen. A break above 1.1280 could lead to a test of 1.1325.
The week ahead could be very volatile and unpredictable. With Lehman Brothers filing for bankruptcy and Merrill Lynch having been sold out, the picture is getting worse by the day. The FOMC meet tomorrow will be under scrutiny and expected to be one of the most followed of recent times, as there is an increase in speculation in the market about a 25bps rate cut.

Friday Notes - Growth Expectations by HVB Group

Despite the de facto nationalization of the two large mortgage financing companies in the US, there is still no end in sight to the financial market crisis. Furthermore, the latest hard numbers have further increased the probability of a recession for the German economy. In contrast, the weaker EUR and the continuing pullback in the oil price likely had a positive impact on expectations. All in all, we expect a moderate improvement in the ZEW growth expectations to a still very low level.
