Dollar At One−Week Low Vs Euro, Reverses Overnight Gains by Dow Jones

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)−The dollar fell to a one−week low versus the euro and dropped against the yen as well during Thursday morning trading in New York, reversing overnight gains as U.S. stocks decline.

Thursday morning in New York, the euro was at $1.5785 from $1.5738 late Wednesday. The dollar was at Y106.82 from Y106.82, while the euro was at Y168.60 from Y168.10, according to EBS. The U.K. pound was at $1.9778 from $1.9805, and the dollar was at CHF1.0264 from CHF1.0289 late Wednesday

The trade deficit increased by more than $4bn to $60.9bn in April, although exports rose sharply by 3.3% mom. But due to the surge in import prices, nominal imports went up even more sharply, by 4.5% mom.
