EUR/USD

Mid−Day Forex Technical Report − Dollar Sold off after Unexpected Surge in Unemployment Rate by ActionForex.com

EUR/USD's rise from 1.5365 extends further to as high as 1.5700 in early US session. At this point, intraday bias remains on the upside as long as 1.5570 minor support holds. Break of 1.5628 resistance confirms that fall from 1.5818 has completed. Also, it suggests that corrective rise from 1.5284 is possibly resuming. Break of 1.5818 high will encourage further rise to 100% projection of 1.5284 to 1.5818 from 1.5365 at 1.5899. Below 1.5570 will turn intraday outlook neutral first.

We expect industrial production to have remained at best flat in April. Survey indicators of manufacturing activity keep heading south, as high oil prices, a deepening credit crunch as well as faltering domestic and external demand are offsetting the benefit of a weaker sterling.
