Mid−Day Forex Technical Report − Dollar Mixed after Data, Canadian Dollar Surges by ActionForex.com
Dollar inches up in early US session after much stronger than expected US durable goods orders. However, the gains are quickly limited after sharp fall in S&P/Case−Shiller house price index. Durable goods orders rose strongly by 5.2% in Dec, much better than expectation of 1.9%. Strength was fairly broad−based.

US Conference Bd Jan Consumer Confidence 87.9 Vs Dec 90.6 (Dow Jones)
U.S. consumer confidence slid in January after having improved moderately in the previous month, according to a report released Tuesday. The Conference Board, a private research group, said that its index of consumer confidence for January fell to 87.9.

US Durable goods orders soar in December (FXstreet.com)
Orders of goods meant to last longer than three years pointed up sharply in the United States, posting the second consecutive increase in December, according to data released by the US Census Bureau.
