Come on, keep talking of the 1.50 level in EUR/USD, so there you have the answer: 1.4685. The unit is obviously trading way out of bounds at the moment and should bounce a little, but there is no doubt that the fake test of 1.49 yesterday may've been the last push up in the pair, shorts from 1.4750 and higher now the very much preferred strategy.

Friday Notes - Fed – still a long way to go by HVB Group

The summary of local business comments on the economy compiled by the twelve regional Fed banks usually tends to stress "moderate" growth. But today there are unusually big differences in business conditions around the country. For example, Texas and Washington State are thriving, while California, Florida, and Michigan are troubled. It will be interesting to see how vividly these regional disparities are portrayed in next week's Beige Book.

DATA SNAP: US Dec Indus Production Unchanged; Consensus −0.2% (Dow Jones)

U.S. industrial production flattened during December, as manufacturing of housing sector goods and cars tumbled. Industrial production was unchanged last month, following an unrevised 0.3% rise in November, the Federal Reserve said Wednesday in a monthly report.

US Net long term tick flows, down to $90.9 billion in November (FXstreet.com)

Net foreign purchases of long−term securities have decreased to $90.9 billion in November, from $114.0 billion in October, according to the US Treasury Department. Net foreign purchases of long−term U.S. securities were $70.3 billion, from which $11.8 billion were purchased by foreign private institutions and $58.6 billion were purchased by private investors.
